Final Fantasy 14 players are in for a treat as the highly anticipated crossover event with Final Fantasy 16 is finally arriving tomorrow. This exciting collaboration between the popular MMO and the latest single-player entry in the RPG series promises a range of exciting rewards for players to enjoy. The crossover event between Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 16 was announced by Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida, the director of FF14 and the producer of FF16, during last year’s Final Fantasy Fan Fest in London. Players can expect to embark on a level 50 quest that will offer gear inspired by the protagonist of FF16, Clive Rosfield. This includes a set of Metian glamours based on Clive’s pecs-showcasing armor, as well as a rideable mount in the form of the loyal wolfhound Torgal and an adorable minion in its pup form.
In addition to the exciting gear and rewards, players can also look forward to obtaining a Clive Triple Triad card and a variety of orchestration rolls featuring the fantastic soundtrack of FF16, composed by FF14’s very own Masayoshi Soken. The Path Infernal event draws inspiration from Clive’s connection to the fire deity Ifrit, providing players with a thematic and immersive experience.
For players who are eager to dive into the crossover event but have not yet had the chance to play FF16 (especially as it is not yet available on PC), there is no need to worry about spoilers. According to Yoshida, the quest should not spoil “much” of FF16’s story, allowing players to enjoy the content without hesitation. The event will be available until May 8th, giving players a limited time to complete the quest and acquire the exclusive rewards.
To join in on the crossover event, players can start the quest “A Land on Fire” in Ul’dah’s Steps of Nald. However, participants must be at least level 50 and have completed the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon” from the base game A Realm Reborn to begin their adventure in this exciting collaboration.
