The highly anticipated sci-fi shooter sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has faced yet another delay. Originally scheduled for release on September 5th, the launch date has now been pushed back to November 20th. While delays are often disappointing for fans, this one seems to be taken in good spirits by the developers.
In an in-universe announcement video, the developers at GSC Game World shared the news of the delay. The message conveyed gratitude for the fans’ patience and understanding, promising that the extra time will be used to address any remaining issues or “unexpected anomalies” in the game. Additionally, a “developer deep dive video” is set to be released on August 12th, providing fans with exclusive interviews, new footage, and a walkthrough of a game quest.

GSC Game World had to overcome obstacles such as staff relocation following Russia’s invasion in 2022 and the theft of early development materials by hacking groups. Tragically, designer Volodymyr Yezhov, a key figure in the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, lost his life while defending his city as a volunteer soldier.
