After an arduous 11 years in Early Access, fans of the open-world survival horror sandbox game 7 Days to Die can finally rejoice as the game is officially launching for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on Thursday, July 25. Developer and publisher The Fun Pimps have announced the long-awaited 1.0 release date back in June, providing eager players with a glimmer of hope that the game would see the light of day.

With more than a decade spent in development, the 1.0 launch of 7 Days to Die is being hailed as a “milestone release” for the survival horror genre. The game promises a groundbreaking evolution with new content, innovative features, polish, quality-of-life improvements, optimizations, and revolutionary gameplay systems. The announcement highlights the game’s unique selling points, such as a fully buildable and destructible world without load screens, and unmatched random world generation.

To ensure that players around the world can jump into the game as soon as it launches, The Fun Pimps have revealed specific launch times for different regions. From Los Angeles to Tokyo, players can expect to dive into the apocalyptic world of 7 Days to Die at precise times on July 25th and 26th.

The 1.0 release of 7 Days to Die comes packed with a plethora of new features and updates. From HD overhauls of character models, clothing, armor, and animals to a new challenge system for players to sink their teeth into, the update promises to breathe new life into the game. For new Steam users, the retail price of $44.99 USD will apply at launch. However, PS4 and Xbox One players with a digital copy of the original game will be eligible for a 25% discount on the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions for the first 30 days post-launch. The old Telltale-released edition will be removed from Sony and Microsoft’s storefronts, but existing owners will still have access to the game.
