Dead by Daylight players will soon have the opportunity to control two iconic characters from the Castlevania franchise – Dracula and Trevor Belmont. Dracula will be introduced as a Killer, armed with a unique shapeshifting ability that allows him to transform into a vampire, wolf, and bat form to sneak up on opponents. On the other hand, Trevor Belmont will be a Survivor with the ability to seek out allies and work as part of a team. While wielding unspecified vampire hunting abilities, Trevor’s character model features a light chain that may be connected to his legendary Vampire Killer holy whip.

Dracula will be the first shapeshifting Killer in Dead by Daylight, with three distinct forms to unleash terror on Survivors. In his vampire form, Dracula will have the power to summon fire to burn his prey. His bat form, while less powerful, will allow him to move swiftly and quietly while flying. Lastly, in his wolf form, Dracula will possess the ability to track Survivors by scent. With these abilities, Dracula promises to be a formidable opponent, equipped with skills specifically designed to hunt down and eliminate Survivors en masse. Moreover, when Dracula is selected as the Killer, his castle will loom ominously in the background of the game’s original stages, adding an extra layer of fear to the gameplay experience.

The introduction of the Castlevania characters into Dead by Daylight marks another significant crossover in the game’s history. Previous collaborations have included characters from popular franchises such as Alan Wake, Lara Croft, Dungeons & Dragons, and an upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover set for release in 2025. Behaviour Interactive’s success in persuading Konami to allow the use of the Castlevania franchise is a noteworthy achievement, considering Konami’s historical protectiveness over the brand. While Castlevania has appeared in other video game crossovers recently, the novelty of seeing these iconic characters in new contexts continues to excite fans.

Fans can anticipate the arrival of Dracula and Trevor Belmont in Dead by Daylight on August 27, 2024. Leading up to their debut, more details about Trevor’s abilities and other aspects of this collaborative event are expected to be revealed. As the release date draws nearer, players can look forward to experiencing the unique abilities and gameplay mechanics that these Castlevania characters will bring to Dead by Daylight.
