In Baldur’s Gate 3, players can encounter a very unique event in the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington, where making the wrong move will result in being transformed into a sentient wheel of cheese. While many players have managed to avoid this fate by either chance or by not discovering the optional event, Larian Studios has revealed that a staggering 1.9 million BG3 players have been turned into cheese during their gameplay. This means that 1.9 million players have either had to restart the game or endure 20 rounds of gameplay as a near-useless 1 HP cheese wheel.

Aside from the bizarre cheese transformation, Larian Studios has also shared other interesting player experiences in the game. For example, 3.5 million players were sent to the past to encounter packs of roving dinosaurs through an optional side quest. Additionally, 2 million players freed Us, a walking brain, from the Colony. One of the most exciting achievements was seen in the 377,000 Dark Urge players who managed to free Alfira and usher in the dawn of lute rock.

In honoring player achievements, Larian has disclosed that only 141,660 players have completed Honour Mode, which is described as an “intense campaign” featuring stronger bosses, stricter rules, a single save file, and permadeath. On the other hand, 1,223,305 regular players ended the game in defeat, with 76% of them choosing to delete their save game to restart the final fight. These statistics highlight the challenges and triumphs that players face in the game.

Larian also revealed interesting insights into player interactions with companions in the game. Shadowheart emerged as the most-kissed game companion, receiving a total of 27 million kisses. Astarion followed closely behind with 15 million kisses, while Minthara received the least amount of kisses at just 169,937. However, despite the affection shown towards Shadowheart, only 48.8% of players were able to experience her final romance scene, indicating the difficulty in developing a romantic relationship with certain companions.

In a more unconventional aspect of the game, Larian confirmed that 658,000 players engaged in romantic encounters with Halsin, with approximately 30% of them choosing to do so while he was in bear form. Furthermore, 1.1 million players had intimate interactions with the tentacle-faced Emperor, with 37% of them exploring the “sensual pleasure of mind flayer tentacles.” These statistics shed light on the diverse and sometimes unexpected player choices and experiences in the game.

On a lighter note, Larian shared that the pet dog Scratch has been petted over 120 million times, indicating the popularity of this furry companion among players. Additionally, the Owlbear Cub has received over 41 million pets from players, showcasing the endearing bond that players have developed with these virtual pets in the game.

The player experiences in Baldur’s Gate 3 range from the bizarre and unexpected, such as being turned into cheese or engaging in unconventional romances, to the heartfelt interactions with companions and pets. These statistics highlight the diverse choices and experiences that players can encounter in the game, making each playthrough a unique and memorable adventure.
