One of these portals seems to transport players to the world of Steamboat Willie, the iconic 1928 cartoon that introduced the world to Mickey Mouse and his pals. This nostalgic setting will also be familiar to fans of Kingdom Hearts, as it resembles the Timeless River stage in KH2. The developers at Gameloft have hinted that Steamboat Willie himself will make an appearance in this final chapter, where “something strange is happening to Mickey Mouse.” Players will be tasked with investigating these anomalies and uncovering the reasons behind the rifts that are threatening the Disney universe.
Unraveling the Mystery
According to Gameloft, “Jafar’s rifts in time have opened up and are threatening everything on Eternity Isle!” Players will join forces with Oswald, EVE, Rapunzel, and Gaston to explore these portals and ultimately confront Jafar inside the Palace to bring an end to his schemes. The release date for this expansion is slated for the end of August 2024, promising an epic conclusion to the A Rift in Time storyline. As this act concludes, players can expect hints about what lies ahead for Disney Dreamlight Valley beyond this current narrative arc. The addition of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog as a free character in August, along with Timon and Pumbaa in October, indicates that the game will continue to introduce new content and characters. Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas is also scheduled to join the game later in 2024, adding to the roster of beloved Disney faces.
