Lego Horizon Adventures is set to launch this year on console and PC, targeting a younger audience by adapting Sony’s dystopian sci-fi game series, Horizon. The game takes players through the story of Horizon, following the protagonist Aloy as she navigates a harsh world filled with machine creatures that resemble dinosaurs. However, unlike the original Horizon series, Lego Horizon Adventures offers a more lighthearted and fun approach to the story, similar to Lego’s previous games based on popular franchises like The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones.

According to reports by Gematsu, the PlayStation website briefly listed a release date of November 14 for Lego Horizon Adventures before the information was later removed. Fans are speculating that the official release date might be announced during a PlayStation State of Play event in September. While the game is confirmed to launch sometime during Holiday 2024, it is not yet available for preorder. Interested players can wishlist Lego Horizon Adventures on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the PlayStation Store, although there is no information about a potential release on Nintendo’s platforms.

Lego Horizon Adventures provides players with the opportunity to explore the world of Horizon through the eyes of Aloy. The game follows key story beats from the original series, including Aloy’s upbringing by a huntsman named Rost and her battles against formidable foes like Helis, the leader of a group of sunworshippers. The description of the game promises an epic adventure that takes players across vast landscapes, all recreated using Lego elements.

One standout feature of Lego Horizon Adventures is its emphasis on cooperative gameplay. Players can choose to embark on the adventure solo or team up with friends for a shared Lego experience. The game supports both local couch co-op and online multiplayer, allowing more players to join in on the fun.

Narrative director James Windeler from Guerrilla Games shared insights into the visual approach of Lego Horizon Adventures, emphasizing the goal of creating a playable Lego movie with high-quality visuals. The game’s unique selling point lies in the fact that every element in the game is constructed from individual Lego bricks, showcasing a level of detail and creativity not seen in other Lego games. Windeler expressed the team’s dedication to making Lego Horizon Adventures unlike any other Lego title, aiming to offer a visually stunning and immersive gaming experience.

Despite the innovations and exciting features promised by Lego Horizon Adventures, the game is yet to reveal details about its pricing or availability for preorder. With its anticipated release drawing closer, fans are eagerly awaiting more information about this creative adaptation of Sony’s Horizon series into the colorful and imaginative world of Lego.
