The producer, Junzo Hosoi, expressed a desire to create a high-quality RPG that will resonate with both existing fans of the series and newcomers alike.
Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg marked the beginning of the Atelier series in 1997, leading to a total of 25 mainline entries and 17 spinoffs. While having a loyal fan base, the series has faced criticism for certain aspects that did not meet the standards set by other RPGs. With Atelier Yumia, Gust aims to introduce an open-world map with seamless gameplay, allowing for more adventurous exploration.
