While there are minor locations and treasures scattered throughout the Abyssal Woods, the ultimate goal is to reach Midra’s Manse for a special encounter, making the journey worthwhile.

However, the primary threat that players must be wary of are the “untouchable” enemies, commonly referred to as the Winter Lanterns due to their resemblance to the creatures from Bloodborne. These humanoid creatures with distorted orange heads are incredibly dangerous and can quickly overwhelm unsuspecting players. To avoid the Winter Lanterns, players must utilize stealth by hiding in patches of long grass where the creatures cannot see them. It’s important to avoid disturbing the orange fruit found in the grass, as it can alert the Winter Lanterns to your presence.
To defeat the formidable Winter Lanterns of the Abyssal Woods, players need to master the art of parrying. This means having a shield or weapon with the Parry skill equipped. Without the ability to parry attacks, players will find it nearly impossible to overcome these deadly foes. The Winter Lanterns are swift and deadly, utilizing grapple attacks to inflict high damage and Madness on their victims. By staying vigilant, keeping a safe distance, and timing their parries effectively, players can take down these fearsome creatures and progress further into the Abyssal Woods.
