The much-anticipated Asus ROG NUC has finally been unveiled, with a launch price of €2,500 for the high-end version. This version boasts an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU and RTX 4070 laptop GPU, along with 2x16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD. While this may seem like a steep price tag, there is also a more affordable variant with a Core Ultra 7 155H processor and RTX 4060 graphics in the works.

Despite the high price, the 2.5L ROG NUC is packed with impressive features. It can support up to 64GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory, three PCIe Gen 4 SSDs, and features WiFi 6E, 2.5GB LAN, and Thunderbolt4 / USB4 connectivity. With support for up to four displays, including DP 2.1, dual DP 1.4a, and a single HDMI port, the ROG NUC is a versatile and powerful machine.

The ROG NUC is the first of many Asus NUC units to come, following the announcement of a partnership with Intel. This partnership allows Asus to sell and support 10th to 13th Gen NUC product lines, while also giving them the ability to design systems like the ROG NUC. This opens up the possibility of future Strix or TUF gaming NUCs, as well as potential business or Zen/Vivo NUC models in the future.

As Asus continues to expand its NUC lineup, there are many exciting possibilities on the horizon. While the ROG NUC may come with a hefty price tag due to its high-end components, future models with integrated Intel Xe graphics could offer more budget-friendly options. Whether it’s gaming-focused units or more business-oriented designs, Asus is poised to make a splash in the NUC market.
