Ayaneo has recently unveiled a pair of new pocket computers that are making waves in the tech world. These emulator-centric devices are giving the Analogue Pocket a run for its money, with one model even offering a modern take on the original DMG-01 Nintendo Game Boy. While we only have renders and a few details at this time, the potential of these gadgets is quite exciting.

One of the standout devices from Ayaneo is the Pocket Micro, featuring a sleek design, twin joysticks, and a horizontal layout that sets it apart from the competition. The placement of the joysticks appears to be more practical than on the Pocket DMG, and some angles even give off a retro Sony Walkman vibe. The 3.5-inch 960×640 IPS panel of the Pocket Micro allows for 4x integer scaling for GBA games, which is sure to please retro gaming enthusiasts.

In addition to their pocket computers, Ayaneo has teased the AG01 “Graphics Starship” eGPU dock. This AMD Radeon RX 7600M eGPU connects via Oculink or USB4, similar to offerings from competitors like OneXPlayer and GPD. With twin DisplayPorts, twin HDMI ports, Ethernet, USB-A, and an SD card slot, the AG01 is a versatile and powerful docking solution. It even has room inside for an M.2 2280 SSD, with toolless entry for easy access.

Another intriguing product from Ayaneo is the Retro Power Bank, a 45.6 watt-hour (12,000mAh) battery pack with a built-in OLED display for real-time monitoring. This power bank features 45W USB-C PD input and output, along with two USB-C ports. However, it appears that users may be limited to 15W per port if both are used simultaneously. The Retro Power Bank is not only functional but also adds a touch of nostalgia with its retro design.

While the pricing and full specifications of these new Ayaneo gadgets are still unknown, the initial impressions are promising. From the innovative design of the Pocket Micro to the versatility of the AG01 eGPU dock and the retro charm of the Retro Power Bank, Ayaneo is pushing the boundaries of what pocket computers and accessories can offer. Keep an eye out for these exciting releases in the near future.
