In the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, reaching the Battahl region can be quite the challenge. Depending on your preferences, you have a few options to consider. You can either opt for the bureaucratic process of obtaining a Border Entry Permit or take the riskier path of navigating through a secret route filled with peril. Each path has its own set of challenges and rewards, so choose wisely.
If you prefer a more straightforward approach, you can follow the official channels to reach Battahl. Progress through the main story with Captain Brant until you complete the Feast of Deception quest. Then, visit him in the Vernworth Tavern at night. Depending on the outcome of the Arisen’s Shadow quest, you will receive either a Merchant’s Border Entry Permit or a Beastren Border Entry Permit. If you happen to be a Beastren, you can proceed with no issues. However, if you are a human, you will need to purchase a Beastren Mask from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop in the North of Checkpoint Rest Town to use the Beastren Permit. With the permit in hand, take the Oxcart from the Northwest side of Vernworth to the Checkpoint Rest Town and present it to the guard at the huge gate. Remember, if you choose to return through the gate, you will need to re-equip the Beastren Mask as a Human character.
For those seeking a more adventurous route, there is a secret path leading to Battahl. This path is not for the faint of heart, as it is filled with powerful monsters that will test your skills and bravery. Follow the banks of the river above the Checkpoint Rest Town to the West until you find a tunnel hidden among the rocks. Climb up the rocks inside the tunnel to reach a risen path, and then embark on the long and treacherous journey ahead.
The secret path is fraught with danger, including powerful monsters such as the rock-covered Saurians, red wolves, a cyclops, two minotaurs, zombies, and a fearsome Chimera. Be prepared to engage in intense battles or swiftly evade these threats as you navigate the single path towards Battahl. While the route may be straightforward, the challenges you face along the way will test your determination and combat skills.
Once you successfully navigate through the treacherous path, you will arrive at the desert region of Battahl. This new section of the map offers a wealth of opportunities for exploration and adventure. Prepare yourself for new encounters, quests, and challenges as you delve deeper into the mysteries of this untamed land.
