Overmorrow, a serene adventure game developed by PixelManta, introduces players to a unique gameplay mechanic where losing your save file is an integral part of the experience. Set to launch on the Switch eShop on 17th May, players will find themselves on a mysterious island full of puzzles waiting to be unraveled. As you navigate through the game, collecting Runes to aid you on your journey, you will eventually reach a point where your progress is reset, challenging you to start over.

The visuals of Overmorrow are striking, featuring angular sprites and environments that resemble intricate origami designs. This distinctive art style creates a visually captivating world for players to explore. Adding to the immersive experience is the soothing soundtrack composed by Jim Guthrie, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere of the game.

Overmorrow offers unguided exploration and big-picture puzzle solving as its core gameplay focus. The more Runes you discover, the more actions you can take in a single day, allowing for deeper exploration of the island. Each screen in the fixed camera 2D game contains unique art and hidden secrets, inviting players to fully immerse themselves in the tranquil spaces. Resting in the game replenishes your Runes but also progresses the day count and narrative. After 30 in-game days, your save file is deleted, presenting a new challenge for players to overcome.

Originally funded through a Kickstarter campaign in 2022, Overmorrow reached its Switch stretch goal shortly after launch. The game was first launched on Steam earlier this year and is now making its way to the Switch eShop. Priced at £17.99 / $15.99, players can enjoy a 20% discount by pre-ordering the game before its official release on 17th May.

Overmorrow offers a unique and immersive gaming experience that challenges players to think differently about save files and progression. With its captivating visuals, tranquil soundtrack, and intriguing gameplay mechanics, this serene adventure game is sure to leave a lasting impression on players. Will you be diving into the mysteries of Overmorrow and embracing the challenge of starting anew?
